Part 3 – Cake & Eat

After we successfully surprised Elly, Elly invited us in to their living room. It was very unprepared, her sis was playing computer game at the living room then shocked with a lot of sudden guest coming and rushed out. We put the cake on the table and Zalee took drinks, cups, plates and other stuff from his car.

Everyone sit & stand around the room watching Elly accompanied by Emi cut the cakes for everyone. There are a lot of picture taking, jokes, discussion and talks. We ate and satisfied with the cakes (luckily!).

We spent more than an hour there and around 830 we started to get ready to go home. Elly thanks us; she even gave us a text message saying thanks and changed her MSN nick. I’m glad she’s very happy. =) We went back to JP around 930 or 10 and then dismissed. It is still quite early because we usually went back JP after 11. No badminton today, like we told Elly. *chuckle*

This is the first big gathering event after quite a long time, which is after the Chinese New Year. There were a lot badminton gathering though but that was a sport not an event. No outing for this month though.

What did I mean by “Eat the cake, we”? I meant, we ate the cake but in a way of saying eat the cake together. This is the part 3 and the last of the videos. This video shows 3:00 activities inside Elly’s home. Good luck with the wait for buffering.

It is nice to have cake for a birthday especially during the party or birthday treat! Even great for surprise birthday! It is true that one of the gifts during birthday is the greetings which showed you remembered them.

However, for friends, the most important and precious gift are time; the time spent together during the birthday which could be a treat, party or a surprise. Even not being treated, treating them or had party, making ourselves available and spending time with our friend during their birthday is already a great occasion for them.

Then why we need cakes? Cakes mean sharing. Sharing is caring. “One for all, all for one.” It is very fun to share with all your friends and ate together. For a birthday surprise, cakes act like the ‘reason’ or ‘mark’ or ‘purpose’ we made the surprise. Cakes are compulsory items for birthday party. Whereas, it is a big appreciation to the birthday person during a birthday treat!

It is also true that a gift, a real present in term of an item, is also very special for the birthday person. However, to have everyone with us during a birthday is truly one of the happiest gift. I think that present is not compulsory, but it showed you how close you are to the person and an all time memorial to them. It is hard to find a perfect present for your friend! However, anything that is not bad is already special to them.

It is great to be given a surprise. However, not everyone received a birthday surprise! Therefore, it is very rare. *imagining* (hahaha!)
