Kuala Balai Re-Outing

Back in 2008, not too far, December 2008; we already went to Kuala Balai in Belait for an outing. Although that time only Sir Zalee brought his camera. Therefore, this time Thursday, 26/3, we went for a ‘re-outing’ but with all our photographers; Sir Zalee, Sanul, Edy, G-Rais and Mur! Photographing outing!

At last, we went outing after quite long time. We had gathering for birthday event last time and badminton gathering also done. What next? We haven’t chill out pool, JP, bowling and movies for a while too. Wait for allowance! But, I’m happy we have this outing!

The members beside the five photographers were Elly, Chiemz, Azam, Fuze and G-Rais’ wife. We met at JP as usual but Azam & I went late so we met at Sg. Liang. Sanul brought us to a small restaurant there for breakfast. The bakso was great here! (maybe because of it was a treat? hehe…)

We went to the army camp (Batalion Ketiga) first in Lumut on the way to KB and stopped at the Kowira store to buy drinks for the outing. We continued our way to the Kuala Balai which was deep inside the simpang leading to Mumong/Kuala Balai. The road was quite damaged and very quite. It took about 30 minutes to reach the destination with no residential on the way.

It was an abandoned recreational house for staying overnight in old kampong-like and jungle environment. This place was left unprotected and not maintained so mostly the facilities and huts were no longer of use. However, it was still old-Brunei-style house and hut so it was very nice for picture-taking.

Anyway, we took a lot of shots here and went around the place. I didn’t bring my camera and although Azam borrowed his camera, I didn’t take pictures here. Therefore all the pictures I use in this post were courtesy of Mur. Thanks Mur!

There were other visitors besides us before that day and after our first outing here because the place seemed to be ‘touched’. Due to the heavy rain in February, more of the things here damaged and we have to a bit careful walking on the wooden walkway.

After we had enough, we back and decided to go WYWY at 5, to have a quick lunch (almost dinner). Mur, Fuze & Edy and G-Rais & his wife went back home early so it left only Elly, Sanul, Sir Zalee, Azam and me. We went back home at almost 7. We didn’t hang out at KB for too long so we didn’t inform the people in KB’s. Azam and I had to rush back since there was a practice at 8. Azam sent me there to Asri.
