Our Convocation (Night)

On the same day, Saturday 16/5, we had our convocation dinner. I considered as the continuation of the Convocation or the Convocation Night. All graduates were invited to have their special dinner at the Plenary Hall of ICC at 715PM with their parents, siblings, spouse, fiancé, girl/boyfriends or friends.

I went to the ICC at 7PM and met Salmi, Azam, Kamal & Ali Yusni. Asri, Sir Zalee and Ho came after and we all went in straight to the hall. The hall was filled with many round tables with food domes for 10 persons. The caterers were from RBC. The stage was readied with the banner & podium. Yes, there were speech and awards presentation during the dinner.

It was quite confusing to choose which tables for us. Sitting together were Asri, Azam, Sir Zalee, Salmi & partner, G-Rais & wife, Bong, Lim, Kamal, Ali Yusni, Mur, and Fuze. Sitting separately with family or partners were Azmi, Aniz, Vincent, Milin, Mahrin, Shat, Radi, Chad, Sanul, Prek, Yani Lucy, Rina and Ping which was quite scattered around but I managed to find them all. Ho, Elly and Nadia were going to have their awards.

The events started with speech from the Vice-Chancellor and student representative, Adi Tamimi (BKP President). Then afterwards were the awards presentation from private company representative who sponsored the awards to the selected students.

Congratulations also to Nadia for the Best Student in Electrical Power and Building Services Engineering award!

Next, congratulations to CJ Ho for the Best Student in Project award! Your robot rocks!

Also, I would like to congrats Azraie for Excellence in Mechanical Engineering Studies, Adi Tamimi for Best Model Student of Mechanical Engineering, Mardiah for Most Consistence Student in Mechanical Engineering, Luqman for Best Student in Religious Activities.

I wonder why ECE department received 3 awards only. Not many sponsorship from the private company for the ECE? DST should sponsor the Communication & Computer System Engineering students instead of the CIS. I think Asri, Vincent, Milin and me also deserved an award. =P *laugh*

We had our dinner of quite tasty meals. After the meals, we went around to find everyone and had photos. Actually our plan was to go upstage but the stage still hadn’t readied to be used for photo taking so we just take photo at middle of the hall. The stage was then conquered by other department before we had our chance. Anyway, great that we all took photo together again for this dinner.

ECE & Our HOD!

Around 1030PM, we decided to go back home as more & more people going back. We had small talk before we went home. I had to take Vincent, Ho, Chad & Wong’s jubah with to be sent for dry clean by Radi’s sister. It was cheap & thanks Radi.
